Leaf Filter or Gutter Helmet?
I will go with Gutter Helmet the reason is it will be less costly as you change the whole system in case of a leaf filter. On the other hand, a gutter helmet is adjusted in the already installed gutter guard system.
I have the same question as one of these customers above. Did you review Leaf Filter or Gutter Helmet? The internet search keeps showing Leaf Filter as the #1 Company for gutter protection. However, I think it’s hype, but not sure. As consumers, it’s hard to know without investing and finding out later that it’s not true.
I have not reviewed separately but I will go with Gutter Helmet on any day. Less costly and can be installed easily on your already installed gutter system.

I didn’t find any mention of LeafGuard, the one-piece gutter system. Did you review it?
I’m not a gutter professional, but we bought the Leaf Guard system about 8 years ago. We were impressed and looking forward to a lifetime of no gutter maintenance. LG works on the concept of water tension … water ‘sticks’ to the curved edge and goes into the gutter. Over time that curved edge builds up with dirt and interferes with the water adhesion. I have to clean that edge twice a year. Luckily we have a ranch so it’s within reach. Unfortunately our house is on a hill and drops down at least 20 feet at the back of the house making the rear gutters unreachable to clean. So if you don’t mind cleaning the edge of these gutters a few times a year, they work well.
come on folks, you really DON’T need gutters at all … all that expense, all that maintenance, all that headache ’cause you still have to clean gutters with or without a gutter guard … put a 2 foot wide stone runway around your house or plant bushes around the perimeter , OR , spend your money giving your wife a better kitchen or a better renovated walk-in-closet !!!
It is hard to read this as a full time gutter guard installer who has removed and installed everything on the market. The top one is great, the micro mesh. The second type works great if you have virtually no trees. If you have trees nearby the leaves back up. Trust me, I see it daily. Go with micro mesh.. whether raptor or leaf filter. I install Costco. After that use gutter helmet types. I have installed around 70 gutter helmet types and had 2 back up. That was due to pine needles. Changing to a larger downspout did the trick.
